About

Our Company Values

For those who are looking for financial advice, we realize the available options are many and deciding who to work with is a challenging problem. Listed below are our Company Values which we hope will give you a better understanding of how we operate.

  1. People Matter – We believe that each person is innately valuable and worthy of respect and honor. We believe that relationships matter and that business is relational, top to bottom. People First, Money Second is a priority statement that places people and relationships ahead of financial matters.
  2. Integrity Matters – We believe that integrity and truth matter. We believe we need to conduct our business in such a way that we are above reproach. We believe suitability and ethical practices come from placing a high value on other people and their needs before our own.
  3. Communication Matters – We believe that communication with our client partners builds and maintains the trust that is necessary for business relationships to reach their full potential. We believe that our client partners deserve the type of communication that is frequent, timely, truthful, & relevant.
  4. Service Matters – We believe that good service is practical and that great service is necessary in the pursuit of business excellence. We will pursue perfection and in so doing “catch a little excellence along the way.” (Vince Lombardi)

Jed Monsen

President, Today Financial Agency

Jed Monsen grew up in Fillmore, Utah, a town that was Utah’s first state capital prior to its move to Salt Lake City. Growing up in the tiny, close-knit community in central Utah, he learned the importance of having good people by his side. He also learned solid values from his teachers, coaches, and religious leaders. His small town did not have much for entertainment, so he and his friends learned to entertain themselves. They rode bikes everywhere, made bonfires, and played sports.

He has been married for over 10 years. He currently lives in Salem, Utah with his wife, three boys, two dogs, and a cat. His boys are young, and they still think their mom and dad are cool enough to hang out with. So, they have a blast getting ice cream, going to splash pads, and kayaking at the local pond. They also enjoy going for drives and on walks and hikes.

Right now, his hobbies are primarily centered around his kids. When he does have some time to himself, he loves to read. He considers himself to be a bit of a fantasy geek, and loves reading about worlds that only exist in the author’s imagination. Since seventh grade, when a golf course was built in Fillmore, he has spent a lot of time playing golf and learning some important life lessons (like patience and controlling his temper). He doesn’t get on the course much but loves every minute when he does. Also, for some reason he watches the Jazz still as well, even though they break his heart constantly.

Their oldest son was born with a tear in his lung which caused him to struggle breathing from the moment he came out. Luckily, the emergency responders from Primary Childrens Hospital in Salt Lake City were able to fly to the hospital his son was born in and solve the problem within 20 minutes of being there. Obviously, Jed and his family are so incredibly grateful for the help and leadership they received. Sometimes peoples financial situations can cause them similar feelings of stress and anxiety. Jed got into the financial services industry to help retirees find peace with their finances and help educate them on ways to protect their income and protect them from staggering Long Term Care costs.

Jed’s faith is very important to him, and he spends many hours serving in various church responsibilities. It is his foundation and makes him want to be a better husband, dad, and person.

Plan For Your Future

There is no one “best place” to put your retirement money because each individual and couple has unique requirements, different tolerances for risk, and need their money at different times. Likewise, there is no one place to keep your money that fits everyone for exactly the same reasons. Your unique circumstances must be taken into consideration if you seek to find the “most favorable place” for your retirement money. This is where we can be of service.
